Lucy probably lived in a mixed environment from dense wooded areas to open grassland areas, characterized by both wet and dry conditions. Thus, Lucy was probably able to tolerate the living conditions of a broad range of habitats. There is no evidence that Lucy or other members of her species preferred one habitat over another5.
